Useful Sites

www.mbs.edu
The Melbourne Business School
Take a look at Publications under the Research button. It contains some well researched material on a number of different business fronts and can be downloaded in pdf documents.

The MBS Case Study Services is worth a close look as it reports on real business cases across a range of disciplines such as IT, Corporate Strategy and Public Sector Management.

www.agsm.unsw.edu.au
The Australian Graduate School of Management
A well constructed site with a rich source of reading references available under the Research button. While it is a little short of immediately downloadable articles the publications can be easily sourced using one of the library services provided by any number of universities.

www.econ.usyd.edu.au
Faculty of Economics and Business University of Sydney
This site has limited interest for the business sector at its current stage of development. Published articles and books etc. appear to be a bit scant and the range needs to be wider to be of real use.

www.gsm.mq.edu.au
Macquarie University School of Management

Worth a visit as there is a small range of working papers and case studies to explore, however the scope of these really need significant expansion. Attached to the site is the MGSM Labour Management Studies Foundation and there is a further small range of research articles that are available.

www.mckinseyquarterly.com
McKinsey Consulting
This is a publication that is comprised of papers written by McKinsey consultants and as a result have a strong practical edge to them that make them particularly useful for management practitioners. Prior editions are available through the site and are worth the effort of close examination.

www.london.edu
London Business School
The site provides a wide range of publications which are listed as references only and a significantly shorter range of working papers. Unfortunately only some of the working papers can be downloaded. Nevertheless, the research references are useful and you should be able to source them through library services.

www.hbs.harvard.edu
Harvard Business School
One of the better constructed sites that functions well. You can access extensive research and working paper references and publications. There are comprehensive abstracts which is essential because in the true spirit of American capitalism nothing is free and you need to be certain about the applicability of the material before you part with the cash.

www.mba.yale.edu

Yale School of Management

A sound site with good structure and relatively easy navigational properties. The faculty publications available under the research button is extensive and lists journals and books. It does not provide the full text of research papers, however the publications list is second to none and well worth perusing.

www.princeton.edu
Princeton University

Go to the research button, then hit the Social Sciences option, select Industrial Relations then Working Papers. Here you will find a fabulous array of papers, all of which are in pdf format and readily downloadable. It has something for everyone in business and for the executive student an absolute treasure trove.

www.stanford.edu
Stanford University
Try the research button, select Research Centres, then Social Sciences and you will find the Work Technology & Organisation button at the very bottom of the list. From here you can access research papers through a search engine and in the tradition of online shopping you can fill up a shopping basket and pay your money to receive the goods. Again, convenient and quite well organised, but with a price tag attached.

www.wharton.edu
Wharton University
This institution has a myriad of study centres and is particularly well endowed with centres relating the management of organisations; the Centre for Management Policy, Strategy and Organisation, Centre for Leadership and Change Management, Centre for Human Resources, but to name a few. The Centre for Management Policy, Strategy and Organisation is the gem among these with a chronology of papers available in pdf form dating back to 1997. The others do provide reference material that can be accessed via the usual university library service routes.

www.econ.usyd.edu.au
University of Sydney School of Economics and Business
A site that has an extensive range of references relating to these disciplines and if you can exercise persistence in the use of the search engine you are bound to find material of interest. These appear to be primarily journal articles and as a result it is not possible to download, however locating them using library services shouldn’t be a problem.
